WEEKLY
MARKETS
MERCADOS (food markets) are the best
places to buy fresh products.
MERCADILLOS (general street markets) are the
best for buying items such as rope-soled sandals,
cheap clothes and household goods.
Within the Murcia region you also find traveling craft
markets that move from town to town on Sundays.
Alicante
Thursday and Saturday: 8.00am-2.00pm at Campoamor
Street market ranging from fruit and vegetables to
clothes.
Daily, particularly evenings: at Paseo Gadia
Especially good for jewellery, leather goods, cheap
watches…
Altea
Tuesday: 8.00am-1.30pm by the port
Aimed at tourists this market offers cheap jeans,
pearls from Mallorca and few local goods.
Calpe
Monday-Friday: 5.00am-7.30pm
Electronic Fish market. The old-fashioned Dutch auction,
conducted in person, has been replaced by an electronic
system that utilises modern technology, such as digital

fast and exciting, like a stock exchange.

Jativa/Xativa
Tuesday, Thursday mornings: Pl. del
Mercat

Flower Market
Also, in December you can buy Christmas crafts, including
wooden nativity figures
Santa Pola

outside also sell fish in small quantities.
